When two straight people love each other nobody questions it or says it's weird or wrong. So why is it when two gay/lesbian/bi/transgender people love each other, that there are people who hate on them and disown or even hurt or maim or kill them?

Homophobia seems to be the excuse for people to descriminate against us. Like, people use it as a way to answer for some people, such as "Don't mind them, their just homophobic." Well, what difference does it make if their homophobic or not, they shouldn't be allowed to hate on me for being a lesbian any more then racist people should be allowed to hate on black or asian or other races of people.

Slavery and racism was abolished from the government, but homophobia is still there.

If a nonUS citizen comes to the US and 'marries' another person of the same gender in a state that legalizes gay marriage, they can still be deported because the Federal government doesn't recognize gay marriage as a whole, even though a person is allowed to stay if they marry a person of the opposite gender. This is sad, families are torn apart, children lose parents, and people lose their loved ones.

A person can be investigated and dishonorably discharged from any branch of the military if there is so much as an accusation of them being gay because of "Don't Ask Don't Tell". Because of that, there is so much discrimination of homosexuals in the army, and they can't do anything about it because of DADT.

I don't understand how someone can be hated because of who they LOVE or because they were placed in the wrong gendered body. It doesnt make sense to me, and I know it never will, but I wish it would just stop.
